Hi all, Planta is suggesting repotting a large number of my plants. I’m fine with sizing up some of them, however I want to keep my plants that are in 6 or 7 inch nursery pots the same. I’ve seen some people trim the roots and then repot in the same pot. Is this the best way to go or do I need to divide them? Any feedback is appreciated! šŸ˜„

i’ve done both! if i feel like my plant will still do ok for another year in the same pot size & i’m not trying to grow it much bigger i’ll trim the roots 1/4 to 1/3 of the way then pot it back into the same pot but with fresh soil. if it’s getting crowded in there i’ll divide.

Seconding this, you can absolutely trim the roots back to keep them happy in the same sized pot. Just don’t expect huge upsizing of leaves if you do this.
