Update: Chop and Prop is a success! My money tree is too leggy and I’ve accepted I need to prune her- even though I’ve been terrified. Can someone tell me where to chop her? I’ve tried and had success with regular money trees, but I’m afraid of anything happening to her 😅

So I’ve not done it myself but I watched a long video earlier this year. My main takeaways were: don’t cut below where the stem turns brown/mature because it won’t regenerate from there, possibly wait until spring, and she may need more light than usual while growing back. This was a video where the man chopped *below* the lowest branch fwiw so there weren’t remaining leaves to scorch in strong sun, just meant you might want more than her current position gives. Hope that helps plan!

Could it just use a bigger pot? I’m struggling with my money tree so I’d be scared to cut it too! The leaves look healthy so that’s good!

They actually do not like bigger pots, more chance of overwatering. I’ve read they like to be a little snug and good rule of thumb is always no more than 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball. What’s going on with yours??

I think there’s 6 stems and 3 don’t have any leaves anymore. They would get yellow and fall off. I was watering according to planta. My husband says that he was watering it also before I moved it. I moved it to a room with more plants and a humidifier and a grow light. It just literally keeps having leaves falling off. I think it’s in too big of a pot but my husband disagrees. Not that I have to listen to what he says!

I would say way too big of a pot and I’d check the roots. They might also have a tie binding them together that hurts them

I do plan to get it a smaller pot. I keep hearing to not repot/replant plants in the winter but it needs it right??
