Went on a week long vacation and came back to all the leaves on my begonia fallen off 💔 I left a water globe and was hoping that’d be enough but sadly it wasn’t. Is there any chance of bringing it back to life? Added an image of its before. Would appreciate tips please!! New plant owner too ):
Normally I’d say no way, but I have actually seen my husband’s B. maculata grow leaves from just a stem. So definitely maybe! It’s possible it was overwatered from the globe and thought the seasons were changing or something. I’d personally cut back any portions that look like they’re rotting or dead to the next node, let the soil dry out a little bit, then resume a regular watering schedule. Keep it in a partially sunny area (east/west window). You might get lucky!

Yeah, it'll grow new leaves from the nodes on the stems. I've heard of begonia collectors who only use terracotta, but I can't keep up with the watering. I recommend plastic pots for anyone experiencing watering problems with their begonias. If you switch to plastic, you can look at the roots while it's out to make sure they're still healthy. Put it in a chunky soil mix in a pot around an inch bigger than the rootball and it'll rebound in no time. Also, don't water on a consistent schedule like you've written there- you should only be watering when the plant actually needs it.
