Have you looked at the roots?
1 gillaI have not. I donāt see any coming out the bottom though.
0 gillningarYou were right about the roots. I took a look at him. There was so much roots wrapped around a tiny bit of soil. I got out as much of the old dirt as I could and repotted him. Fingers crossed he bounces back. I would hate to lose him. (ignore all the junk on the end table. Iāve been sick lately and didnāt feel like cleaning.)

Mine do this sometimes⦠and they are still growing great. I think itās just something that happens once in awhile. Have you repotted or moved it? Maybe itās a little stressed too.
1 gillaNope. Neither. I got him from the nursery, brought him home and placed him in his spot. All I have done is water him when the app tells me too. I havenāt even turned him. That is why I was concerned about the yellow leaves.
1 gillaitās looking very thirsty to me. might need a repot? have you ever repotted? this looks like nursery soil. i donāt stick to the planta watering schedule, better to get your fingers in the soil and judge for yourself north facing isnāt really great light, itās actually the lowest amount of all the directions your windows can face, so if youāve got an east or west facing that would be better. if north is all you have, it needs to be RIGHT in front of that window
2 gillningarI have not reported him. Heās still in the nursery pot. Thereās no way to get my finger in the soil as thereās a lot of stems coming out of it. North facing window is all I have as my other plants take up the one main window that I have. I did place him in front of the window though to get the beat light possible. I will have to get all up in his business and probably repot him then lol. I was wondering if that might be an issue as to why his leaves are yellow.
0 gillningaryeah itās thirsty, if you canāt get your finger in the soil at all itās definitely time for a repot. these are very resilient! youāve got this šš»
2 gillningarI second this. Sticking to a strict routine for watering isnāt helpful in my experience. Some days itās extra hot/dry and the plant dries out much faster, other days itās not so the plant stays wet much longer and if that happens on repeat, - which I find to be the case much more often than the plant drying out too soon - then overwatering it will cause root rot. This plant is extremely forgiving though. So soaking it in a bath for about an hour so everything is moist and more easily malleable, then repotting into a pot thatās 1ā-2ā larger than the root ball will help it. Iād trim the yellow leaves at the same time and if that leaves any long, leggy vines, cut them back a few nodes and stick them back into the soil. They will take root and your plant will come back nice and bushy. You definitely want to give it a better draining soil mix. Mine do pretty well with a pretty even mix of Black Gold regular potting soil and Cactus/Succulent soil.
1 gillaYellow leaves can mean itās been over watered. Often the app tells me to water when it is not needed, so I check by feeling the top inch or 2. If it is damp I snooze it and it will remind me again in 2 days and I will check again. I have a couple of plants that the app is always incorrect about.
1 gillaThe app tends to have you water too often. Itās always best to check the soil before you water and make sure it actually needs it. It looks like thatās a pathos? They like their soil to dry out completely in between watering :)
1 gillaSo you know... once reported it may turn more yellow for a bit while it readjusts but than it will come back better with more growth.
1 gillaThank you for letting me know that!! I had no clue! I probably would have started to panic. You guys are also wonderful on here!!

itās totally normal this time of year as the light wanes for plants to lose a few older leaves, much like deciduous trees drop all their leaves to prepare for winter. it does however seem like your pothos is/was rootbound and that will certainly accelerate leaf yellowing. i definitely recommend checking to make sure all or at least most of the soil is completely dry before watering your pothos again, that will help it grow vigorously. youāll know youāve waited too long if its leaves start to look floppy and sad.
1 gillaThank you
