Can anyone advise why my snake plant has grown a new leaf that’s superseded the original plant and why there’s a random thing green thing growing in the pot? The new tiny “plant” is thin enough to wave from the breeze from my ceiling fan. It doesn’t look like a snake plant. And the main plant that has 3 leaves hasn’t really grown since I got it in April but now has grown another leaf that’s about 5 inches taller a than the original plant 😅

ok so the little green guy is a stowaway in your soil— just pluck it out. snake plants propagate themselves and it looks like it’s liking the conditions. have you changed them in the last few weeks? the big tall leaf shows signs of receiving lots of great light. snake plants get bad PR and actually really thrive in bright light — this is all looking good đŸ‘đŸ»

I repotted it June 11 and moved it in front of west facing window and since then that’s when that new leaf popped up and started growing. I was concerned about the main plant seeming stagnant but that’s true if the new leaf is growing things are going well 😊

The main plants existing leaves are not going to grow anymore since the “spikey” tips are broke off. Snake plants leaves grow in size from the tip and not the base of the leaf, but it will put out new growth from the center, give it time! They’re slow growersđŸȘŽ
