A request for emotional support/adviceā€¦ I think my husband is mad at me for letting the plants take over the house (about 200), so I guess I need to downsize my collection. šŸ˜ž I can accept the idea of giving some plants away, but Iā€™m afraid of them not thriving in the recipientsā€™ care. If youā€™ve given plants away, how do you get over the fear that youā€™re sending them to an uncertain fate, especially if the recipient is a stranger? Photo is of the ā€œplant room,ā€ where I can have as many plants and lights as I wantā€¦ itā€™s the rest of the house thatā€™s the point of contention.

    I think posting on blossom app might help! They help sell your collection to people who are searching specifically for things and not just random plant killing normies šŸ¤£

      Our someday plan is to build a sunroom specifically for plants, but thatā€™s years away. Iā€™m in PA, so a greenhouse would need to be heated.

    I also think that maybe you could give your husband away instead! Problem SOLVED! Or perhaps trading him for more plants?? Just kidding obviously! But plants help with mental health! Tell him He is jeopardizing your sanity

      lol! Truly. I keep the plants alive, and they keep me alive. His issue is he sleeps during the day (night shift), so he wants the house to be dark, and I, of course, want the lights on and windows bare at all times. šŸ˜†

      That is a fair argument and I donā€™t blame him! Maybe just take the plants out of his sleeping area? Idk Or keep the windows shut, get grow lights and keep the grow lights on when heā€™s at work

      Night plants! Interesting idea! šŸ§›šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø He normally sleeps in the living room, which is set up to be dark for him. But now he wants also to be able to sleep in the bedroom sometimes, which means no grow lights in there, or in the hallā€¦ and I have a lot of plants in both spots. šŸ˜•

    Maybe talk to him about what would help both of you. If you've taken over every space, par back so that the areas he spends time in are plant free.

    Blosm is a good app for giving or selling or swapping. It does not guarantee a good home though. They also have plant issues or killers unfortunately lol. I would just talk to the person, extra points if they use planta. Encourage them to download Planta so that you can transfer the plant to them on here, and they have all the care and history.

    You can list the plants for sale (on FB or other sites). Often when someone is willing to pay money for something they are more likely to take care of it. They have an investment. But also maybe tell them about proper care in the description when selling so they understand what they are getting into.

      Yes, thatā€™s trueā€¦ then the person is making an investment in the plant (however small), which hopefully motivates them to care for it well. šŸ’š
