Hello, Iām wondering why my spider plant will not grow more offshoots/babies? It has two but theyāve been there for months and nothing else except new leaves. Itās a decent size spider plant too.

Could be many things. Is the plant itself still growing? Could it be lacking pot space/nutrients/light? Is it in good conditions for roots? Plants are a little like humans: if theyāre missing essential nutrition (through soil, light, or water) they wonāt be able to make babies until thatās addressed
2 gillningarThe plant is still growing, has new leaves in the middle coming up. I just repotted her a little while ago. Iāve had her for more than a year. She gets sunlight and grow light but not all at the same time ofc.
1 gillaIf youāve just repotted her then sheās probably putting her efforts more in to setting in and growing roots then making babies aka making herself bigger and better first
2 gillningarHow long would it take for her to get adjusted? I repotted her about a month or two ago.
0 gillningarAre the babies growing?
0 gillningarYes! Theyāve got some new leaves too!
0 gillningarStill could be many things but best bet is that sheās doing fine and just focusing on growing the existing babies, which is great. If they stop growing or she starts showing signs of distress then itās another story, but sounds so far like youāre doing things right
2 gillningarAnother note: it feels paradoxical but repotting could drop the reproduction rate past a āshockā period from the repot itself. If the plant was pretty root bound, it may have operated with the logic of āthereās no room here so I should send what I can as far away as possibleā Whereas a plant with room to grow may refocus itself on its own roots and growth.
3 gillningarIām not claiming plants have actual logic but thatās my best explanation
2 gillningarI was always told to encourage babyās, keep the mother plant on the dryer side and she will send out babies in search of water. I donāt know if thatās accurate but mine seem to send out the most babies when itās under watered.
2 gillningarOhhhh I will keep that in mind
