I was born without the “green thumb “ and really struggling to keep my plants 🌱 alive. Please help me with my fern! It still has some green leaves how do I save it?

Find a closed cloche or large closed terrarium. Chop all the leaves back to about two-three inches from the base, keep it under the cloche or in the terrarium to keep the humidity pretty high. Water when the top two inches is dry and keep in bright light but not direct light
2 gillningarThank you I will definitely try it !
2 gillningarPop it in a plastic bag if you can't find a cloche.
3 gillningarOh that’s a great idea 💡
0 gillningarFerns are pretty hardy if you get them in the right conditions. Mine die back like that most winters and they come back beautifully in the spring. You can save it! Good luck. 🍀
1 gillaIt’s been like this for months that’s why I’m not sure what’s happening to it
0 gillningarit needs water. badly. ferns are very thirsty friends!!
1 gillaThe soil is always wet, I think It dried out and then I overwatered it. I love ferns so much so I hope I can save this one 😬🤞
1 gillaok! i believe in you 🌿
1 gillaMaybe change your user name from plant killer to plant lover…your plants are probably scared. Lol.
4 gillningarHahahahha they probably are 😂 I don’t blame them! If this poor baby survives I will change it 🤞🤣

0 gillningarHigh humidity is often really important for ferns. Also, have you ever repotted it?
1 gillaNo I have not, I got it from a supermarket sometime in spring last year. Would repotting it and placing it in a closed cloche would help?
0 gillningarYes, absolutely. After you quarantine a plant for the first few weeks you have it, repotting in an ideal soil and pot for the type of plant is really important. Supermarkets & hardware stores don’t often sell plants already in their ideal soil. Besides using a cloche to increase humidity, I recommend repotting it in its preferred soil within a pot that has drainage at the bottom.
