I’m not sure what is happening to my little snowflake aloe, but it is turning a darker color on all of its, used to be, green leaves! I’ve been very careful not to overwater it, being concerned I might have it succumb to root rot. Am I actually underwater this baby, or what? Why would these leaves turn a darker color like this? TIA! And please, don’t tell me it’s dyingā€¦ā˜¹ļø!

Has the lighting changed recently? My medical aloe turned sorta brownish when it was getting too much light. Once I moved it to a less sunny place it turned green again. That being said I don’t have a snowflake aloe, and checking on root health can’t hurt. Especially if the lighting hasn’t changed recently.

I have an aloe that looks similar to this doing the exact same thing. I put mine in a sunnier spot and I don’t think it liked it. Second the lighting comment

It’s interesting that Planta says my aloe likes full sun. But I agree with you both, I think he may be getting too much sun, and that’s probably why his coloring has changed. I’m just wondering about Planta… šŸ¤”?!

I think you both may have hit the nail on the head! My little guyā€˜s been sitting on the windowsill in my kitchen because that’s the sunniest place in the house I could find. Since he is a sort of cactus, I thought he would like full sun; however, I’m going to remove him from that spot, and put him in a place where it’s bright, but not direct sun. Hopefully, he’s going to recover, and get his nice green color back. So TXS for coming to my rescue; I’ll be back again, if this is not the caseā€¦šŸ˜‰!
