Hey, I have a wonderful snake plant, but is currently playing fast and loose, having lots of babies and sacrificing lots of its other leaves. It is currently watering every 10 days but I can only get to it once a week. 2 things, can someone tell me what to do with the babies and dried leaves, and/or if there’s a way to game Planta into watering more frequently, as it’s soil is quite dry. Photos should explain. Cheers.

If you select “water,” Planta should ask why you’re watering early and you can select “soil is dry,” or vice versa, select skip watering for “soil is wet.” Cut off the dead leaves and anything you don’t want the plant sending essentially wasted water to. I’ve made at least 3-4 entirely new plants with the babies from my mother plant and it will always make more.

Water the plant when it needs water. Don’t strictly follow a schedule because the app can’t know enough of your plant and environmental details to precisely generate a watering schedule for your particular plant. Use the app as a reminder to check if the plant needs water. You will have to check the soil for moisture every 5 days to 7 days in the growing season. Set the app to water more frequently if the plant needs more water more often. You will have to check the soil for moisture every 5 days to 7 days in warmer months. Drooping folded and pale leaves with dry tips are signs of dehydration as you found out. Water before the plant gets to this stage. You should remove the container completely dead leaves and cut the brown tips. 🪴🍀
