Not counting outdoor trees and perennials, my oldest plant is a phalaenopsis orchid named Mr. Speckles. I had almost forgotten him until he died, and since then he's been recovering steadily. He's finally getting to a point where he might bloom. I got him for my birthday; though I forget which year, it would've been 2023 or earlier. He's also the first orchid where I finally figured out proper care

ArchNouveauMy oldest is a tradescantia zebrina and it’s a little over 2 1/2 years old. I was gushing over this pink plant I saw in my doctors office and asked the receptionist what it was. She told me the common name for it was offensive and she couldn’t remember the scientific name lol. When I left, she had 6 cuttings waiting for me to take home. I never thought I was good with plants before, but when they took root and started growing I realized I could be! I currently have 20 plants which I found out is the maximum I can have at a time without being overwhelmed. She’s given me several plant cuttings over the past couple years, she’s such a sweetheart and she got me into one of my favorite hobbies!
