Hi everyone! My Thai con is growing a new leaf which is so exciting, but yesterday it developed these brown spots on the new leaf which is disheartening. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I haven’t repotted it recently and no signs of Thrips.

The only thing that I can think of is maybe sunburn?? But it looks like you’re using a grow light in the pictures, so that doesn’t really make sense.

I do a mix of sun and grow light, depending on the weather. If it was a sunburn would I see effects on the other leaves too? None of them seem to have any changes.

That’s interesting… I’m stumped, but I would suggest to put the pictures into Dr. Planta to get a diagnosis.

This could be sunburn if the light is too close since it’s still so new but it could also be a sign of thrip too so look at the leaves really well, if you can unfold that new one without damage I would

Everything that everyone has already said and it could potentially be mechanical damage

brown spots on new growth is almost always a watering or humidity issue. it's caused by water becoming trapped in the unfurling leaf and causing bacterial growth. check the roots asap.
