I bought a ZZ plant of the leftover plants at Walmart. It looked healthy but when I went to repot the roots had bad root rot and the root ball was rotting. I took off the rotting roots and cut the root ball until I found healthy tissue. One of them has no root ball now but has roots. I am having it callous overnight. Any tips? This is a plant I have wanted for a while. Help!
I bought a ZZ from metro. It was so root bounded that the pot was cracked. When I removed the pot I saw some rotten roots. I just put it as it was in a bigger pot, without cleaning the root ball or nothing, and wished for the best. I realized that ZZ plants are resilient. This one started to grow like crazy after I repotted it. Two stems died. I suggest you just repot it as it comes and wish for the best. This is mine now. The chopped stems are because my kitten used to play George of the Jungle there when he was a tiny wee baby
