Looks like it could be thrip damage. It doesn't quite look right for edema
1 gillaššš, and what should I do for thrips? TIA!
0 gillningarSpray it down with pesticide every 3-5 days for a few weeks.
1 gillaMa'am you are getting to many plants to not have an intake process š š
4 gillningarTell me that before I buy another nine plants, all at onceā¦šµāš«! But seriously, when I have new plants come into my home, they go through a set of sprays with a copper fungicide, and I always put a pesticide into their waterā¦(SNS 209, which you recommendedā¦š!). Plus I add a few other things to their water right off the bat, like Plant Juice fertilizer, Micro Lift for fungus gnats, and Armor Si, a plant growth, nutrient. If youāre a ficus, a couple of other things! Sooooo, how about that for all my brand new babies? Am I killing them with kindness, or what? TIA!
1 gillaNo that's good.
1 gillaDid you water it recently? It kind of looks like edema.
3 gillningarI received it four days ago, and it was quite damp. I havenāt watered it since it arrived, and wonāt water it until itās dry, since itās a pothos. Any other thoughts? TIA!
0 gillningardoes it get any direct light, or bright light for extended periods? iāve heard that Scindapsus Pictus prefer indirect/medium-lower lighting conditions, and can burn with too much light. if it turns out that the spots werenāt caused by pests, maybe itās the beginning of scorching? iāve also heard that Scindapsus Pictus is considered a āfalse pothos/psuedo pothosā due to its similar growth structure so although it looks like and is usually labelled as a pothos, its care needs are actually more that of a scindapsus! where i live it, seems like my satin pothos doesnāt like when its soil dries out completely whereas my true pothos plants seem to prefer drying out between waterings.
2 gillningarMany thanks! Your reply was extremely informative, and I learned something I didnāt know⦠(like I know everything,š!), that this plant shouldnāt get completely dry, which is what I was waiting for! Should I be watering this plant when my moisture meter reads around 50%, or so? TIA!
0 gillningaryouāre very welcome! when i got my first silver pothos i believed the label (i mean, why would they label a plant as a different species than it is right? šlol) and i killed it most likely by treating it like a true pothos (letting it dry out, cleaning the leafs with a damp microfiber cloth etc). in my experience, while my scindapsus pictus doesnāt like to dry out completely it also doesnāt want to stay too damp and definitely doesnāt want fully wet feet. i find that watering when the soil is 70%-80% dry (or 30%-20% moist on the moisture meter) works the best for me, and i make sure that both the pot and soil iām using have lots of drainage (and therefore good airflow/aeration) since iām not letting it dry out completely!
0 gillningarThis stuff makes me⦠šµāš«šµāš«šµāš«, so Iām gonna hog tie my hubby and get him to help me with this stuff. I think youāve helped to clarify some of this mess! Maybe tomorrow I can say ālet there be light!ā TXS for all the info⦠Youāre a peach!
