Majesty palms are VERY particular. Itâs almost like Goldilocks, everything has to be just right. Are you watering it enough? Too much? What is the light situation like? Is there a draft? Is it getting direct sun? Do you have root rot? Howâs the moisture? Do you have a humidifier? Iâd check out your roots and make sure everything is OK there, first. Then possibly repot if you havenât already. Go up in pot size 1-2â bigger than the root ball. Use potting media especially for palms (the other stuff stays too wet and you want good drainage). When you water, try the stick method of sticking a chopstick or knitting needle in the soil. If it comes out with soil stuck to it, then donât water. If youâre still not sure, check with a moisture meter (while they can be unreliable, Iâve used mine for reassurance). In the winter I stick the stick all the way to the bottom (or as far as your stick can go) and in growing season about 1/4 to halfway. Also, majesty palms crave humidity. So if your air is dry like it can be in Texas, your palm would probably benefit from one. I have a hygrometer near my plants to see what the humidity is like. You donât need a big fancy humidifier, either. I have a $50 one in the corner by my plants and have the humid liking ones near it. Mine gave nice long fronds and now sheâs giving short ones. Why? Because sheâs a majesty palm and does what she wants. Iâm sure thereâs a reason, just havenât figured it out yet.

I lost two to root rot, and it may also be worth looking for pests.
