Does anyone else’s house get super dry in the winter? I didn’t realize how low it actually got till I got a hygrometer and was shooketh to see it as low as 24 one day. What do you do to help, I have a humidifier going is there anything else I can do?

The heater being on can certainly dry out the air in my place, as low as 25-30 even when it’s 80-90% humidity outside. I run a humidifier for a few hours each day and have the more sensitive plants in a greenhouse cabinet. Small enclosures, glass cloches, terrariums are super helpful in boosting humidity too.

Yeah that is my next move to make a green house cabinet. So far they all seem fine, and it has been this way a few weeks now. I just have to water more

I get nosebleeds from dry air. I only have low humidity a few days in the coldest months when the heater runs more often and I can’t keep a door open. I just put on a large soup pot with a gallon or two of water to simmer on the lowest possible flame. I add to the water lemongrass, mint, basil, rosemary or whatever leftover herbs are still available. I find the scent more comforting than just running a humidifier. Also, my dishwasher inadvertently adds a lot of moisture to the air when I open it to add dishes after it starts. 😆

I spray my plants every single day in the winter along with the humidifier.
