Can anyone tell me how to save this philodendron? I repotted it because I was afraid I overwatered it, but it is still looking very bleak. The leaves are continuing to yellow and fall off. TIA!

Has it received any fertilizer?
1 gillaI had been fertilizing it according to the Planta app schedule, but when it started doing very poorly, then I stopped.

May be in shock. I would say leave it be for a while
4 gillningarleave it be in a place with sun, indirect is fine. let the soil dry out if youre afraid of overwatering. what ive done for my philos (and its worked AMAZING) is i fertilize everytime i water by sprinkling it on top of the soil. i do NOT pay for premium on this app bc from what ive seen most say, is its not worth it. if the CONTINUE getting worse, clip them off so the plant can focus on growing healthier leaves. check for root rot (roots that are extremely thin, brittle, and falling off) too if they continue having issues. i also got a moisture meter off amazon to tell me how moist my soil is and bc of it, i sometimes dont follow the plants watering schedule. its helped me a TON. with my philos, if it reads dry about 50-75% into the soil, its time to rewater. chopstick/knitting needle works too ! if the soil sticks, the soils wet. theyre from warm, tropical environments. our homes can be too dry sometimes and this leads to issues. sorry for the ramble ! i really love my philos and love to share what worked for them ! check on the soil and leaves regularly but dont move it or repot it until it seems necessary to do so. trial and error !
1 gillaif my moisture meter (chopstick/needle) reads moist on a day that the app says water i just snooze it for two days and come back to check then bc i dont want to let it dry out TOO much before its next watering.

0 gillningarthe black stuff sounds like sooty mold. its caused by insects. it doesnt attack plants directly but can block sunlight by covering parts of the plant. just keep wiping it off til it stops and maybe get some gnat catchers or mosquito bits to put in the top layer of the soil keep bugs away. next watering do a 70% hydrogen peroxide and mix it with your water, about 10% of your water. this will help kill off any larvae that may be living in your plants soil to keep those bugs away too. it will not harm the plants.
1 gillaand you have drainage holes in your pot right ? if not, youll need to repot in a pot with drainage holes. you can always use the old one as a decorative cover
