One of my ficus has had this since I got her about a year ago. It hasn’t sprouted any new leaves and I feel like it’s because this little piece got stuck or never finished growing. Should I cut it off? Is there anything I can do for it? She otherwise very healthy, she’s been repotted (about 4 months ago?), and doesn’t show any signs of root rot.

Don’t cut it!! That’s going to be the next leaf. She probably needs more direct sun. In my experience those plants go stagnant without enough light and look otherwise healthy. Move her to a window and fertilize every other week and you should see results!

I have her next to the brightest window, I also have a grow light for her for days when it’s rainy/dark. It hasn’t done anything for over a year. I use Purived to fertilize. 😰

What’s the drainage situation and how often/much do you water?

I water once a month, drainage is very good, no root rot, very healthy root system. I typically bottom water when I do water it.

Not enough water. Water every two weeks during fall/winter and weekly during spring/summer.

You can top water too - I have one of these and I drench it until lots of water runs out the bottom every week.

Def do not cut off. I would check the roots. Last time mine went dormant was bc it was root bound. As soon as I repotted, it started sprouting new leaves.
