How long does it typically take for Planta to add suggestions for plants? Iâve tried a handful that donât seem to be getting added even though Iâve given suggestions from the actual information tags with the plants weeks ago. Like, Jade Craig compacta or the Reverse spider plant (Chlorophytum Comosum Variegatum). It seems like a lot of the mini plants arenât in here.
I just, for example, search for a standard âChlorophytum Comosumâ and add that, but when it asks if youâd like to âname it or choose the common name?â Iâll just type in âChlorophytum Comosum Variegatumâ. Not perfect, but at least youâd get the care schedule.
2 gillningar I tried that but it seems the care directions for the larger one are different. Which is why my spider is always delayed in watering. :( a couple of my plants have died because of it. Sadly, when I am caring through planta I forget the stragglers. Might just go back to all manual if it is a short time until they add them.

Have you tried to change the pot size and seeing if it makes a difference? The sizes go down to 2inch. If the schedule is wrong, Iâve had luck just emailing support and letting them know itâs a little off and theyâll usually check for you!
0 gillningar Thanks! I can try that in the meantime :) ultimately Iâm hoping to not have to find a bunch of work arounds to do something that should reasonably be in there. But Iâm seeing that more people can relate to this.
1 gilla Totally get that. Iâm sure this is the first time the staff have seen some of these feedbacks so Iâm sure theyâre working on improving things! I use the pot size setting a lot for my Hoyas because thereâs a lot of uncommon/rare ones that arenât mass sold yet so some of them are just âcarnosaâ with a pot size tweak for schedule đ€Ł
0 gillningar Honestly, I hadnât considered the pot size tweak so that was super helpful! Lol. I get all these little âminiâ versions of plants that costa farms probably bred casually. Iâm not surprised they arenât in here. I wonât buy their new series of plant hybrids that have no names. Nameless premium mish mash = future dead plant lol.
1 gilla Thatâs totally true. Or theyâre the common plant and theyâve given it a weird new name. đ

Hi there! đż We have a couple of thousand requested plants and work very hard to add new plants every day. We take the requests in order. For example, if 4 different users requests the same Hoya species we will take that before a Hoya species with just 1 request. If thereâs a new plant thatâs urgent to add you can always email us on contact@getplanta.com âșïž However, in your case, the Dracaena âJanet Craig Compactaâ is mislabelled. âJanet Craigâ and âCompactaâ are two different culrivars and your plant looks like a compacta âșïž I will check on C.comosum âVariegatumâ immediately. Regarding your spider plants always dying you can also contact us via the Dr.Planta feature in the app if you want personal help figuring out why it happens. That feature is for all premium users đż Otherwise you have the âdisease and pestsâ group here in Social. You can change the schedule yourself by setting up a custom schedule. Otherwise itâs important to make sure that all the settings are put in correctly so the watering schedule has as much information to adjust to as possible đ
