Looking for some advice/diagnosis for my Alocasia Micholitziana. She just gave me a really small leaf. She is not root bound but also not in a big pot, just tight enough the way Alocasias like to be. She is about 1 feet away from an East facing window, so she gets good direct morning light. My humidity has been around 60-65% on average. Any idea why it is giving me smaller leaves? 😭 I want big dark leaves!

My Micholitziana gives me a healthy range of different size leaves. Try to be patient & the big guys will come, I promise! You’re doing great!

You’re such a good plant mama, even got the humidity! Sometimes they just have a mind of their own and are determined to under-perform— until you least expect it. I don’t know where you’re located geographically but if it’s winter, it also might just be a matter of shorter days, less sunlight than usual. I don’t know if grow bulbs would be too aggressive for your guy but that’s what I use for my succulents and they love it. You can get ones that produce what looks like natural light, and plug them into most light fixtures, use them to supplement your natural sunlight for a couple hours a day.
