Poochie’s Plants

So I posted about this a while back and promised I’d give an update. About a month ago I took these two rubber plants that were in the same pot and repotted them separately hoping the one on the right would benefit a little. Well, the left one is really taking off but the right one still hasn’t performed. Why won’t it give me a new leaf? It’s looked like that for about 6 months already …

They look beautiful, really. Take the win, maybe the right is struggling a bit more, but it’s still thriving. No leaf loss. Do you suppose it could benefit from not a location move, but maybe the addition of a floor plant light? Like this:

Perhaps … they are also at different windows in my house, left is at a south window and right is at a west window, but they’ve both been at a south window for most of those 6 months and still the right one didn’t change so I thought I’d switch things up šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Well, I suppose it couldn’t hurt. I got one of the cheaper ones, it gives more indirect light. Maybe a little boost is all it needs. If not, a light like that can always benefit your other plants. It was only I think $39.

Good to know! I do feel with the quantity of plants in my house and the lack of windows I really should be getting grow lights heading into the darker season šŸ™‚

That is not cheap, I got a grow light bulb for $4 at dollarama that is 60 watts and it is so bright it is blinding.

As far as a floor plant light it is. I was mostly thinking of the posts about Solitech and other expensive lamps that give a much better, more direct source of light. If all that’s in the budget (like mine for now) then these work fine. I also use $2-$3 plant bulbs in some of my regular lamps that I use for general light in my living room area. I have a snake Plant sitting under it too, it also works for that plant. ā˜ŗļøšŸŖ“

Ok apparently there are cheaper grow light bulbs, can you tell me where you get $2-$3 bulbs from.

I watch Amazon for flash deals. Last one I got was a 2pack of full spectrum grow bulbs for $4.99.

I like the lights with two heads, cause that gives you more coverage. Good luck, the plants seem to love them!

It sounds like it's the lighting. You might also drop in some fertilizer like Foliage Focus

      Foliage focus is my choice!

Try Keike paste on the unopened leaf.
