Hello! I got this little succulent at a garage sale. What type is it and should I do anything for it?

    Looks like an echeveria ghost plant. Usually: transfer to a chunky soil mix and drown that hoe then don’t water again until she’s completely dry. Since she looks a bit overwatered, I would just let her dry out completely and acclimate to your home for 2 weeks before moving her. Also be sure to place her in somewhere with bright/direct light 😊

      She has rocks and stuff and the soil is pretty airy. I have her in a south facing window

    Sound like a good start 😊 When you repot her next, you may consider removing the rocks as they can settle and clog the drainage holes over time and actually end up aiding in root rot rather than preventing it sometimes. Happy planting! 😊

    It’s a donkey’s tail/burrow’s tail. It’s gonna need extremely bright direct light, I have mine about 10” from a T8 grow bulb. I only water once the soil dries fully and the succulents start to get slightly less firm.

      That’s how I water them too. I will have her in a window sill

    this isnt a burros tail or ghost plant. it is a sedum (a leggy one). attaching my ghost plant (left) and burros tail (right) for reference.

      Burrows tails are a sedum. I have two different golden sedum and they both pull up online as burrows tails.

      sure, sedum is a huge umbrella, but the post and those two pictures are not burros tails. they have leaves consistent with this type of sedum (but likely not a golden variety unless it is really that sun deprived).

    I agree, it looks like a ghost plant. Looks very similar to mine. Agree with lots of bright light and water only when soil is dry. Mine is in a 4inch terracotta on east facing window. I’ve lost a few bottom leaves, there is one that’s about to in the picture. So I’m not an expert…. Happy to learn here also

    Thanks for everyone’s help! My first succulents died so I am trying again. So far so good!
