Last night I found my very first mealybug, but it was only a single one and it was on a florida ghost cutting in water, so I'm not sure what measures I should take now. Attached is a photo of the cutting in question, and the mealybug was sitting at the very top where the petiole meets the leaf. It was only a single one and I didn't get a picture because I panicked and immediately wiped it off with alcohol. I also wiped the rest of the leaves and petioles just in case though I did not see any more. It sits on a counter and the only plants nearby are two begonia leaves in a shot glass (trying unsuccessfully to prop lol) and a dendrobium orchid -- I inspected every inch of the dendrobium and didn't see any signs of them. I do have 7 new plants but none of them have been near this cutting. I'm certainly not naive enough to think that it was for sure the only one, but I'm not seeing any others anywhere. Does anyone bave recommendations for what other steps I should take to make sure I don't have any others? I know what an infestation look like once it's all over, but not sure what signs to look for before an infestation gets bad. Are there any safe preventative measures I can take?
