hey guys! i have this pothos for about a year now and it never grew, itā€™s still the same as how iā€™ve got it. i was instructed to water it every 2 days and leave it in a place that has light, but it seems like iā€™ve been overwatering it and leaving in a dark place, which is in my kitchen. can you guys give me any tips on how i can restore this plant so she can thrive? iā€™m very new in plant care, and would like to have more plants but i just need to know what i can do to make it right. thank you!!

    If you don't want to move it into a sunny spot, than a growlight maybe? There aren't very many good ones though. There might be something wrong with the pot if it seems over watered, or maybe with the soil becuase it's not growing. If the conditions get worse, then you might want to take a look at the roots.

      Hi everyone.. new to commenting but if it is root rot.. is it true that cinnamon will help with that?!

      Cinnamon is more of a preventative than after the fact. Yes,it helps when potting them up use it like a ā€œmycorrhizae inoculant.ā€ Prevention. Always soak your roots in a hydrogen peroxide solution before planting.

    iā€™ve changed the soil recently, it grew some new leaves but the older ones continues the same

      Oh that's good. You might not be able to reverse effects on the old leaves. The pot is a strange looking one.

    the friend that gave me this pot has lots of pothos that grew significantly and is very healthy. do you think that it makes sense if i propagate the older leaves to see if they can grow elsewhere?

      Hmmmm maybe tbh i would check the roots again and change the soil one more time then give it like a light water then place it in a kinda bright area and see what happens bc i got this potho from my church friend and it was over watered and soil was wet all the time but now I let the top inches dry out and itā€™s been doing amazing it didnā€™t look good when I got it and it turned around quick I think yours could absolutely do the same

    how many times should i water? also, should i leave it by the window? iā€™m concerned of the sun burning the leaves because i wonā€™t be able to remove it from there during the day

      Yes it can handle a little morning direct sun before like 11-12 pm but just bright indirect for rest of day or all day and itā€™ll be fine

    If you struggle for light and only have a direct light source you can put a privacy screen up that goes on the window and filters the light or a sheer curtain. My living room window is south facing so gets direct all afternoon and i use it to my advantage šŸ˜‚

    Your pothos is overwatered and needs more light. Watering every 2 days indoors is too much let the soil dry out fully between waterings and never let it sit in water. Move it to a bright spot and it'll bounce back.

      Yeah Iā€™d say too once soil is dried out repot it with new soil and wait out 3 days before watering it again so the roots can kinda heal up.

    Yeah thatā€™s what I use for my succulents, but yeah for this just get the tropical mix and some perlite and just mix it together!

      Apply same method as the pothos with the repotting method, and with this one watering only when itā€™s 100% dry and this one I would do the cactus/ succulent mix soil only no need for perlite. Both put them in bright indirect light. And when you start watering your pothos again water throughly of course but then water every time itā€™s dry 2inchs if that makes sense.
