I received my first mystery cutting box yesterday! I’m not sure what to do with the purple passion plant and the giant begonia leaf. I’ve started the other genuses from cutting before so I think I’m good there. BUT I could really use help with those 2 please! I’ve plunked them in water so far and they look less wilt-y than yesterday

I know right?!?! They’re so fun! I paid $5 and got these 7 little cuttings. We will see how they all fair 😊

Ooh fun! I haven’t propagated purple passion plant either, but I’ve had success with begonia leaves in a moss prop box. I think I’ve seen people water prop single leaves too

Mystery cutting box? I’m just going to say it, like one of the voices in your head. - What the? $5.00 for a bunch of leaves and stems? I can’t wait to see how this works. - I’m not saying that to be mean heck I spent $35.00 on 4 Purple Prickly Pear Pads 3 years ago, delivered to me September 2021. I killed two of them before the spring. So I lost more money than $5.00. But I also received really really really poorly packaged succulents delivered to me once all taped up in paper towel and when freed leaves just falling off due to shipping and unpacking. After taking and sending some pictures of plants shipped properly and their disaster shipment they refunded my money and since they were so damaged dead I kept them. Because they would not have made the trip back. And they were kind of ok with that. I know it was just $5.00 but you and everyone deserve better. If they do not make it then it is because the items were not well established when you received them. If they do make it then you are Mother Nature! Have a good Sunday and week.

I’m so sorry that happened to you! It’s never nice to feel like you’ve not received quality items after paying for them. I think it often has to do with time of year, quality of sellers, your expectations, and sometimes your knowledge about what you’re buying. I bought some orchids and a calathea for much more than $5 and killed them…. 😭 But I’ve gotten a good amount of stem cuttings that have produced healthy plants over a relatively small period of time. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I’ve also gotten small potted plants shipped to me (in tape and everything) that have thrived. These might not all live but I think that’s part of the fun! Learning about what works for you and enjoying the process! I’ve had these cuttings for ~4 months and they are all well established and pumping out lovely new leaves 🄰
