Hi Planta friends! I have a Bird of Paradise that has two stalks (please forgive if that’s not the right terminology 😬) from the same root ball. They were both doing well for a couple years, but now I’m noticing one is doing significantly better than the other. They both put out new leaves at the same time, while the good side opened perfectly and is now shooting out another, the struggling side never really properly opened - it took months and even ripped in the process. It also had another leaf the randomly went brown and crispy on one edge with no good reason that I can tell - its care and location has always been the same. This side is progressively getting droopier too, while the good side is fine. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you! ☺️

Have this dwarf fiddle leaf and it once had quite a few leaves on it. I’ve had it for more 2 1/2 years in this same pot. Since it so small now, should I put it in a smaller pot?? 🤔

I’m taking over care for this unfortunate plant. The app says that it’s Selenicereus validus. Other than tender love and care, what else can I do to bring it back from the brink? What do you think went wrong in the first place? I’m putting it under a grow light starting today to give it a fighting chance. Is it salvageable? Thanks!

Hi! I’ve had this plant for a while and she was really happy, but since I moved apartments the leaves have started drooping, there’s significantly less growth and large variegated leaves like there used to be, and they’re constantly yellowing and falling off. I’m not sure if I’m watering not enough/too much or if there’s something else that could be going on, if anyone could help. I just pulled off about 20 yellowed leaves and included a picture of what it used to look like also.

Hello All, I have this peperomia ginny from past 2 Years and it has been of the same size ever since. In addition to this good healthy leaves keep on falling off from the Node. I dont water it often, let the soil completely dry before i water it. Its close to the window though.

The leaves are drying out one at a time. Do I cut the top off?

Help with my peace lily- the ends are pointing down and slightly brown on the tips. These flowers have been there for awhile, should I cut them back? It’s still growing new blooms. Thanks!

I had this dracaena ~3ish years, the top leaves have recently grown in spotty.
What is it lacking that caused this?
I only water when the moisture meter says dry. It’s in a 12in pot with drainage, it gets fertilized regularly. It’s about 4 ft away from a south facing window. (It used to live in a sad dark corner but I moved it (last summer I think?).
Thoughts?

Help! 😭 My monstera andanosii’s leaves are turning yellow! I only water it when the soil is completely dry, and it gets indirect light. I’ve never had pests before so I’m not sure what to look for for signs. Any help would be so so appreciated! 💕

Weird one today :) what do we think?
Repot necessary? I only repotted about 14 months ago but after a recent overwatering period in August the leaves have simply just turned yellow. I don’t smell any rot from the roots but perhaps it’s my misjudgement. Since that August time I’ve only watered twice - once in November and a few days ago.
Perhaps she simply needs a larger pot :) sincerely hope so.
Also, should I just shear off the yellowing stems?

I got this plant from a seller who I won’t name because they have rectified the situation. I was excited to get it but really disappointed with the status when it came in. The reason I am posting it here is because I want to know if I should be worried about it being pest related? I have it quarantined away from my big collection but have a few others in quarantine as well. I do that with all the new plants I receive. I’m just afraid and almost put this one outside to call it a day. It’s gotten worst over the last two days. I guess the question stands is it worth keeping and should I be alarmed?
*This is not a post to slander the seller. They were great with their feedback and fast response. It’s to see if I had anything to worry about and could the plant bounce back. Thank you.*

My poor, once-thriving calathea has been struggling with thrips for months. I’ve been using a spray of water, isopropyl alcohol (70%), hydrogen peroxide (3%), and tea tree and peppermint castile soap, which is working well on the thrips but also seems to be killing the plant. She spat out a whole bunch of new leaves (the smaller ones at the base) but now even they’re starting to die.
I tried water blasting and repotting previously but the thrips came back in force. This spray is the only thing I’ve found that actually seems to stop them, though they do just keep. Coming. Back.
I’ve been spraying twice per week for the last couple weeks and I try to make sure everything is covered but as lightly as possible. I’m a houseplant noob and I REALLY want this one to live! Please help me save her!

I think this lady might be beyond saving, but figured I’d post here as a long shot! We picked up a calathea medallion a few weeks ago that was doing great, but has almost immediately gone down hill in the last week or two. I checked with Planta’s diagnosis and it said it was over watered, so I repotted into fresh new chunky soil and have it in a east facing window, near a humidifier, and she has not revived even a bit. Photos of her original state and current state 😭

VFT virgin here! 🪰🌱 here we both are sitting outside for enrichment time 💚
I bought this cutie little VFT from Canadian Tire a few days ago and repotted it as soon as I came home, making sure the soil has all the goodness Google told me VFT needs.
Understandably it was in a bit of shock between being purchased, the bumpy car ride home, and being handled to be repotted, but most of the traps have opened again after just a couple of days… so I think she’s in good spirits!
Anyone have any tips or tricks? I know to keep the soil wet so I have the lil pot in this candle jar so I can keep the bottom a little wet (will be getting rain water this spring! But for now distilled water), and I currently have her sitting in an almost-south facing window where she gets like 4/5pm sun onward but it’s pretty filtered out by then!

Hi, I’ve noticed these holes appearing in my bird of paradise leaves that make these lines. I know the humidity is too low, I’ve starting leaving my humidifier going 24/7 and ordered some rocks to make a humidity tray. I’m wondering if these are due to low humidity or a pest? Bonus points if anyone can tell me what fungus/pest! <3

Please help! My ivy plant has dried out, I noticed it was getting dry several weeks ago so I watered it and it’s never perked back up even after several small waterings so I’m scared I over watered it. I repotted it a little over a month ago into a pot with no drainage holes because I thought ivy was a hearty plant and could handle it but I’ve just now repotted it again into a pot with holes… lesson learned but please help me save her!!

I have scale, and I was wondering is this the black sooty mold thing and how to treat it?
This is my lemon tree and I really do not want him to die😭
Plenty is dancing :3
I have found these small dots on my plants, I’m not sure if it could be a problem or not. But it’s only on three of them

My peperomia has turned very pale and grey (used to be dark green and red) and hasn’t seemed to bounce back. I think she was overwatered but I let her dry out and repotted her months ago and she hasn’t gone back to normal. Any ideas on how I can save her?!

I have this adorable air plant in an adorable pot. But he hasn't been doing so hot. I watered him today but his leaves are dying very fast and he hasn't had any new growth lately. Is there any way I can help my baby? I put him in a place that planta recommended and he's getting the right amount of natural light. What should I do? PS he doesn't have any soil. The gray pot with the dirt is just so it can be propped higher and get more light.
