i’ve had this philodendron billietiae for over half a year now but recently it’s new leaves dried up and withered despite nothing changing in my care routine!! upon further inspection i think there’s and earthworm in the pot 😬 i’ve never kept this plant outside so i’m not sure how it got there or if it’s been there the whole time, but related to the plants symptoms or not; how can i get rid of this thing with as little contact as possible?? i know it prob won’t harm the plant, if anything it will help but i prefer to keep my room worm free haha (additional advice on the sickly plant would be appreciated aswell!)

I posted here the other day when I was pretty sure my orchid had fallen victim to fungus gnats. I set her into a clear bin with some yellow sticky traps and woke up to 3 or 4 flying around in there. I stuck some traps in my other plants as well and found my polka dot plant had one in the trap and one or two flying around her. I’ve put her into another bin away from the rest of my plants but I’m still worried the others have been infected now. What are ultimately the steps I need to take now? Should I let the plants sit until the soil has dried out completely (it’s been quite a few days since either of them have been watered), or should I take them away now and remove all the soil? I saw someone mention gnats are attracted to peat moss and miracle gro has been known to contain pests, I have peat moss added into a few of my plants along with perlite. The peat moss is not miracle gro brand but the other soil I use is. What brands would you recommend for good pest free soil? I’m a little stressed out as I’m still new to much of this and just very unsure of what to do moving forward. I’m doing my best to consider this a learning experience and I really really appreciate any help 🩷

Good morning, Planta residents! Popping in to share progress pics of my Micholitzianas. Only 1’s (Maxkowskii) leaves have been looking sad the past two days due to over-watering & over-fertilizing so I repotted her into a small cup I made holes for with a soldering iron to maximize drainage. Moreover, Greedy’s (Frydek) new leaf keeps coming in full speed, but it’s began to rapid-kill both of its oldest leaves. Any tips or tricks, alocasia parents? SOS. -thekintsugidav

Hey, I need help with my snowball succulent. I do bottom watering for the plant, and I noticed that it wasn’t taking in any of the water. When I looked back at it a few hours later, the water had turned this gross brown color, could this mean the succulent has root rot? Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Having a couple issues with a few different plants, hoping folks can help! Photos are added in reverse order of issue. 1. Pepper plant. Has tiny brown spots on its leaves, like the leaves itself are turning brown and the edges too. Still starting to put out flowers, but should I be concerned? (Last image) 2. Lemon tree’s leaves are turning yellow. Underwatered? It’s in such a small pot. Should we repot? (Third image) 3. Eggplant. This guys had some pest issues, and the leaves aren’t looking too good. I hear it’s often a “trap” plant so I guess that’s fine but is there anything I can do? (Second image) 4. Lettuce leaves still getting these weird spots. Any advice? (First image) 5. And one more thing, my tomato plants seem to be doing well but they too have some paler yellow leaves at the bottom. Normal as they grow or no? No picture attached. I water when the soil feels dry or moisture meter says as much. I give them regular neem oil sprays. Most of them get full sun or close to it, some like the lettuce I moved aside to try less sun. Thanks! Sorry for the long post!

How do I keep my plants safe from mealy bugs? It started with one plant, I put it in a corner of the balcony by itself so it wouldn’t spread to the others. I regularly sprayed with (forget what it’s called but it’s meant for mealy bugs, other pests etc) a solution containing neem oil. Another plant that’s always been indoors, far away from the infected one, also got mealy bugs. Long story short, I have at least 6 different plants with this issue now! They were all kept away from other plants, It makes no sense! And I can’t seem to get rid of them no matter what. Help!

Should I cut off my crispy leaves to my palm? I placed her outside for a period of time and she obviously didn’t like it (my assumption) any recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Does anyone know why my parlor palm has these brown spots. I am watering it correctly, I have it getting sun/shade for 6 hours a day and I’ve inspected it multiple times and don’t find any bugs on them. I have also noticed my plant is very yellow compared to others. Can someone help me?

I have a snake plant that is having a weird struggle. There are sections of the leaf that are brown and drying out. I have repotted it in a better draining soil (bark, pearlite, short charcoal, coconut cor mix). The roots were healthy but there were not many roots, like 5… for a pretty large plant. No pests. Using filtered water. Is under a bright grow light. What exactly is going on with this snake plant?!

I need some help! I got two mangaves as rescues from a nursery and they both have a ton of broken leaves but are otherwise healthy. I’m wondering if I could chop them down and let them come back where the leaves with be even and look relatively more healthy?

My cactus got root rot and I caught it in time and cut it off. I did some research and and I read you have to wait for the cut part to calcify. Are these roots?? What do I do? I was not expecting this. Should I repot it? I haven’t watered it in about a month as part of the calcification process. Please help.

Last weekend i notice that there was some gnats coming out near the soil while I was watering her so i decided to change the soil in the process i think i over watered the plant bc the following day the leaves have been drooping. I took it out of tried some of the videos that stated for overwatering i should take it out of its fancy bot ( not the nursery pot) put it on top of a news paper and have a fan on low to help release some of the moisture. I tried to make some holes as well in the soil but it still continues to drop at first i thought it was fine so i put it back in the pot but when i checked today the nursery pot was moist. I am extremely new to caring for plants so i would really appreciate some advice

PLEASE HELP. Sorry not the best pictures because my phone camera sucks. What are these bumps on the back of my pilea leaf 😭 I moved this guy to a new location a couple months ago because I believe it was getting too much sun in the old spot. The leaves were turning pale lime green and there was some redness which I assume was sun stress. Today I just noticed these gross bumps on the back of the leaves. It’s on a lot of the new leaves and sort of looks like it could be where the pores are? I am wondering if it’s overfertilized. I don’t know what else could be the problem. I only water it when dry. I don’t think there are pests…nothing is moving. I water with tap water, but I always have used tap water on this plant. Could it be edema? Also, the humidity in the room has been way up the past week or so because this other plant I got needs humidity of 60-70%. Thank you!
