Help Monstera Adansonii- Growing like a weed but leaves are looking like they are burned or have pests. I do not see any sign of pests but my eyes aren’t the best. Plant is in self watering Pon for about two months, growth is plentiful, and majority of sun is all indirect and bright. I do have very large floor to ceiling windows with north east exposure.

Hi, I’m a new bonsai parent. I got this elephant bush bonsai a month ago for $30 in Dallas(I live in NC, had to bring it on a plane). It was really healthy when I got it. I’m watering it once in 2 weeks(watered it yesterday, checked if the soil is dry) but I’m seeing that the leaves are shriveled since 2 weeks. It stays in the window sill for 4-5 hours(morning light) and under the grow light for 8hrs(at night). Please help me. I need to know what I’m doing wrong with it. If it’s the light, what do i need to change?

Hey, planters! If I've learned anything from taking care of plants, it's that sometimes you just gotta troubleshoot and learn from your mistakes – kinda like a little research experiment! Long post incoming, but here's what I learned from my dying Corn Plant. TL;DR at the end :) After months of problems with Elvis, turns out he just HATED the sun he was getting. I kinda figured this out after an entire stalk, facing the sun, gave up on life. Interesting too, because all my other "bright indirect light" plants thrive exactly where Elvis was, despite having the same light requirements. Some theories I've come up with: a) The "vague quantity" theory: There are four GENERAL categories for light requirements – Direct, Bright Indirect, Medium, and Low. "Bright indirect light" can mean different things to different plants. Two species with the same light requirements may not equally react to the same spot in your home. b) The "nature" theory: Plants, like people, are made up of genes, which can affect individual care requirements despite two plants being a part of the same species. Kind-of like how I, a redhead, will burn under any kind of sunlight, but my brunette brother is fine going out without any sunscreen. Perhaps Elvis just prefers more shade than the average Corn Plant. c) The "nurture" theory: I have no idea what growth conditions Elvis was in before I got him. Perhaps he grew up and got used to a shadier environment, and prefers those conditions now. If nurseries are growing these plants in bulk, Elvis could've been one of their Corn Plants that sat in the shady corner of the greenhouse. All in all, please don't beat yourself up if you don't know what's wrong with your plant, or even if a plant dies under your care. Like babies, plants can't talk and tell you exactly what they need! But we can observe and make educated guesses and become familiar with how each of our plants reacts and responds to the environment we provide it. Plus, it's REALLY hard to quantify anything in terms of care. Maybe you have a south-facing window (aka "bright direct light") but it's blocked by a large tree. Or maybe you need to water once a week, but you don't know if that means 1 cup or 1/3 a cup, especially since that cute terracotta pot you bought on Amazon is glazed on one half and unglazed on the other. Anyways, thanks for reading, and good luck with your experiments! TL;DR: As frustrating as it can be, recommended growth conditions for plants, either thru Planta or via the the internet, are just general suggestions. In reality, each plant has its own individual care needs. So don't feel bad if you're struggling to learn what those specific needs are!

Help! I’m new to the peperomia hope plant. Is it normal for its leaves to look curled up and wrinkled underneath?

Does anyone know what could be causing this on my BOP? I recently relocated this plant from an east to a west facing window. East window isn’t getting much light this time of year due to angle of the sun. Is it getting too much sun now? I may just need to put it back in the east window and supplement with a plant light. So far this is only happening to the very tallest of the leaves but I’m thinking it is getting hit with too much direct sun especially this one leaf that shades the others. Thoughts?

What the heck is up with my Jade plants soil? My jade plant has been consistently happy for months as as far as I can see still is, but this is the second time this weird crusty stuff has shown up in the surface of the soil and this time it's allll over when before it was it's along the edge. Help?! Also, the first time it appeared I took a spoon and removed it- it came off in dry hard clumps and didn't feel even a bit moist- even though the soil under was just fine UPDATE: since I've removed it it's come back in this plant and two others- another jade and pothos. the jade has white instead of red, but otherwise everything else is the same, and the pothos is red. I'm thinking it's a problem with the soul I'm using, because with many of my plants that I've repotted, I've used potting soil (probably quite old) found in my garage. (I used soil from the same bag for every plant) The soil consistently takes forever to drain water (and acts hydrophobic) and get whatever this stuff is. I'm gonna work on buying new potting soil, specifically for succulents

My ghost plant Casper has dropped a bunch of leaves. Soil was dryish, so I lifted him out of the pot and spritzed the soil. Lifting caused another leaf to fall, so I’m not sure if I should water from the top.. I’m just worried about overwatering. I did move to a west facing window to give him more light. I’ve only had the plant a few weeks so maybe it’s still adjusting?

I just bought this plant two days ago, had her repotted at the store and was told to water once I got home, which I did. I noticed tonight her bottom leaves are yellowing and drooping (slightly hard to see in pics). Is she in shock? Am I doing something wrong?

What happening to my Pearls & Jade Pothos??! These two leaves are coming in already dead!! 😭 Like squishy and rotten dead! I just realized she has the thrips epidemic that’s going through my jungle. But would that cause this??

The first blooms of my hoya Inflata is missing!😭 The blooms are the size of small grapes. The photos from Sunday show a butterfly clip next to the flowers for comparison. There is no evidence it fell off or was eaten on location. The culprit took it and ran. I’m sure it was a squirrel!😡 One flower opened yesterday morning. I assumed most of them would open overnight. The flowers and stems were all gone before 7 am. Hopefully, it blooms again next year.
