What is the fastest way to get rid of fungus gnats?? I have sticky traps set up and I have been watering plants with mosquito stuff but they don’t seem to be going away 😭

Part 1: I’ve not had this orchid very long and I just wanted to see if the purple on this new leaf is normal? I’ve heard of some plants turning a reddish colour under stress but I don’t really know. Part 2: I’ve not changed the pot since I got it in summer and I know it’s not got many roots showing so would it be a good idea to remove some of the potting mix to allow them some more air? I know the root in the photo isn’t looking the best.

So good news is I germinated a sunflower seed using the plastic baggie and wet napkin method. Bad news: It grew way faster than I thought it would, and now the top is twisted Will he be okay? Will this fix itself? Should I do something, or leave it be? I’ve never dealt with this before and I don’t want to break him by being too rough

Hello, I posted this plant earlier wondering what it was. It’s starting to recover a bit already and I’ve noticed this discolouration on the leaves. Does anyone know what causes this and whether it’s permanent? It’s a philodendron but I’m not sure specifically what kind. Thank you!

Hi. New to plants. Recently went on a spending spree and got a bunch of plants and this app to help me take care of them. I watered them when I brought them home around 4 days ago, but I believe that may have been overwatering. Do you think this is the case as the tips of the leaves on almost all the plants are turning brown. If so, how do I fix that before it gets worse? Also, what would be the best solution for the gnats that seem to come with the plants lol. Thanks in advance for any answers. Edit: my apartment gets shade, but I’ve been using a grow light on them as well. Could it be not enough light still?

No problems or pests.. hopefully this is the right group to post. Wondering when is the right time to repot this gal? She’s a marble queen pothos! Has a good amount of roots coming out of the bottom. Any tips? Should I wait for spring? I want her to grow long & strong.

I’ve had this golden pothos for a few weeks now ive watered it a couple times. The last time I watered it I measured out .8 cups because I read that’s the correct amount. I’ve noticed that the new leaves are browning and the one in the 2nd pic hasn’t even come out yet and it’s brown. It’s around 4 ft from the window and I don’t get direct sunlight just whatever reflects off the snow or what comes through the window. The last time I watered it was around a week ago and the top soil is dry but I can feel the soil through the drainage holes is slightly damp. What’s going on? Am I overwatering? Underwatering? I’ve really wanted one of these plants for a while and I don’t want to kill it.

beginner here: i just bought this pothos off of facebook yesterday. this will be the first plant i own other than my succulents. Can someone please further educated me on if something is wrong here. i’ve read that yellowing means over watering, the branches seems to have browning and a bark type feel on spots. Also the soil is only filled halfway in the pot in came in and the bottom looks like pebbles of some sort underneath. what do i need to do?

hi! so for some reason my lovely stromanthe has been acting up. i know these plants are a little sensitive and dramatic but i’ve always watered her properly, misted her, given her enough light. as of yesterday (see first pic) she is now more droopy and nothing else really changed in her routine. also, the second pic is just from 18 days ago. the only thing i can think of is cold stress- although she’s literally been near the same window for 5 months so i’m unsure why the cold is affecting her now. anyways, any tips to help revive her or ideas if it could be cold stress or something else. also! where should i cut to try and propagate in case i can’t save the whole plant? thanks!🤍🤍

Ok does anyone know what this brown is around the base of my cactus? I tried doing some research to see if it was diseased or if it was corking… I’m not sure.. any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you!!

This has to be the largest infestation of spider mites I have ever seen on a single plant I own! I saw the plant looked a little dusty with yellowing edges. A closer look showed that it was covered with a thin, fine webbing both on the front and on the back of three leaves. It was between the base of the leaf and the stem, as well. It looked like sheer stockings! I took it outside and saturated the leaves and stems will a rubbing alcohol spray solution. The dirty looking fine grit are dead spider mites. The yellowing edges are the aftermath of the colony sucking the sap and chewing into the leaves. I think they got onto the plant the 10 days I had it outside in warm weather. I brought it back in and obviously didn’t inspect it carefully enough. None of the other nearby plants appear affected. I started spraying all of them with alcohol to be safe. 😩😭😭

Hello, why does it look like the ends of my monstera adansonii leaves are turning yellow? They were fully green and healthy last week. Or am I just being paranoid?

I just saved this plant from a clearance section and was wondering if anyone had any tips on what could be wrong or how to bring it back to health!

So my rubber plant that has been thriving since the start of my plant journey ~3 years ago i repotted and it declined, rapidly, dropped all its leaves and i chopped it because i want to at least try and save some cuttings, but im really unsure if the rest is saveable, i love this thing to death and i dont want to have to part with it if theres any way to save it
