My monstera has thrips!! I’ve been inspecting and inspecting and even spraying insecticidal soap to prevent (after I found thrips on another plant nearby) and I still somehow missed it! I’m working on isolating it but I feel like it’s too big to rinse off in the shower. Any tips to thoroughly clean the whole plant without also watering the soil? Someone talk me off a ledge!
My outdoor Lantana has developed a leaf condition where the leaves turn light and then brown and fall off. I don’t see any evidence of bugs on the leaves. Anyone have any suggestions as to what this may be?
Bought a few crimson sweet watermelons a few weeks ago and they were doing well. Recently, I tried to thin and repot them and keep the root as undamaged as possible, but looks like they’re still sad. I don’t have very high hopes, but is there a chance I can save them?

Calathea 911 Hello friends, I was reached out today by my best friend’s sister asking me about Calatheas and to be very honest with you, I know very little about them. To me, they are pain to keep them alive and maintain and I have killed so many, forget about it they are not part of my collection lol. I have books from Darryl Cheng (“The New Plant Collector” is one if them) and I found some info that I have already shared with her however, I wanted to also reach out to you guys since is easier and some of you kind of know the tricks to keep them alive 🤗. I am going to post a couple pictures she sent me this evening and try to help her figure it out what’s happening with them? In one of the pictures I noticed that the soil is very dry and I know Calatheas don’t like that but any help will be great so I can pass the message along thank you friends. I also thinks theres two different varieties, so!
What do you do to discourage mosquitoes from breeding in the plant trays under your pots? I have been trying Mosquito Bits but I’ve found them a little messy when we get these torrential rainstorms we get here in North Texas. My “bug guy” tells me to add dish soap to my watering trays underneath the pots. Is there a risk of harming the plants if they soak up water laced with dish soap through the roots?
I have been having trouble with my Calla Lilly. I have re potted her in a better pot with better drainage, but she is still struggling. someone please tell what I should do.
Hi! I’ve been having trouble with these two for quite awhile now. My Watermelon Peperomia and Tradescantia barely put out new leaves or grow, but they’re not dying either. I can tell they’re not thriving and need help, but I’m not sure what to do. If you have any tips or know what these plants might need please let me know!
Hi!! My rattle snake plant has seen better days… all leaves have some brown/dried out. I have had new shoots for many months that are not getting bigger… its in a 6inch pot and I went to repot today thinking maybe it had root rot.. but all roots look great! What tips do you have to help this plant come back?!

Hey! Does anyone know why this is happening? It has never happened before. I moved it to a different grow light shelf a few weeks ago.
I have these weeds growing like crazy. No matter how much i pluck them they come back 2x the amount than before. Its gotten to the point where they are growing all over the yard even after mowing them. I was thinking about a weed killer but i dont want it to hurt my other plants and effect my edible plants too. I dont even know what kind of weeds these are. Please help
Something is going on with my tomato plant! Some of the leaves are dying and turning brown and yellow. Ive been cutting some of the leaves off and the very dead leaves off but i dont know if that will make it worse or not..
I got this peace lilly about a month ago as a gift for Mothers Day it had a lot of yellow leaves and the flowers were droopy. Since then it had perked up and is growing new green leaves, should i leave the yellow ones or trim them off??

Spider mites, help! New plant mom. Growing my collection over last year and it’s been going so well. But I’ve noticed little white webs on all my plants. Started getting to occasional damaged or yellow leaf (May or may not be related) but want to squash this. ASAP. I’ve been using sexy plant spray to clean leaves weekly (70% iso alcohol, pprmt soap, neem oil, water mix, recommended often online). I bought some beneficial pest (but I think the ones I got only treat fungus knats). I did spray with cold water too. I can’t separate really cause my house is tiny and I have too many plants (bad lighting) and not enough plant lights to make that work. I live in Atlanta so it’s warm and I could move outside but I worry that’ll welcome MORE pest and come winter I’ll have a disaster when I move back indoors. Idk. Ideas? Advice?
I’ve had my gardenia for a few months now and it’s been watered, misted, and fertilized on schedule, give or take a day or two. I think it had spider mites a few weeks ago so I ran the whole thing under the faucet protecting the soil and I think it solved that issue. Now I’m getting a few green leaves dropping off when I check for mites during the watering schedule. I’m barely brushing the leaves up and they’re falling off. Any idea what’s going on?
