Violet

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong with my African violet. The larger leaves have water stains which I’m aware of, but the new leaves are coming in with brown spots and I’m not sure why. I bottom feed it once a week when the soil is dry. Use an LED light since it’s not near a window. I stopped using my fertilizer (8-14-9) because the plant seemed to almost be getting burned by it. I rinsed out the soil as best I could to get rid of any excess fertilizer (which is why the leaves are a bit stained) I’m just not sure why it’s looking so bad… The edges of the leaves seem dried out on a few of them where the stains are so it almost seems like I’m not watering enough but I’m scared of root rot. Any advice?

Hello! The base to my Orchid had fallen off earlier this morning yet the roots of the plant are still green and healthy with no sign of root rot? I water my plant once a week along with a few sprays of orchid fertilizer once a week. Can someone please tell me what had happened and if my orchid can be saved?

I’ve had nothing but trouble with this guy since I got it. Does anyone know what is going on here? I removed this stem in case it’s something that can spread.

Any tips on dealing with a fiscus moonshine? I just bought this three weeks ago and the bottom leaves are soft and one fell off. I’ve had a large one before and it didn’t do well. Just not sure if there’s certain tips/tricks or if I just wait it out

HELP idk what im doing wrong with my syngonium albo. Almost all of its leaves are starting to yellow, i had it in a very airy soil, mostly orchid bark and perlite. Wondering if maybe she’s drying out too fast, and staying dry to long? I just changed the soil and did peat moss, orchid bark and perlite will this help prevent the leafs from dying off any further? I absolutely love this plant. I can’t see it go down!

I just got a dieffenbachia and have been watering the soil + the leaves. she looks a bit dry and I’m wondering if watering the leaves themselves as well as the soil might be my issue? or if they like their leaves being watered?

Does anyone know if these are pests or mold or something else altogether? She’s otherwise healthy but for the occasional leaf that turns up like this. TIA

Can someone identify these? I brought these home to rescue and am new to caring for plants. These were all attached to the same stem piece so I separated. The roots are really long and thick, should I trim them back to fit into smaller pots or should I just place them in bigger pots? And what soil do you recommend for these? I have them sitting in water for now. Thanks for any advice!

How do I tackle thrips control while preventing burnout? Ok. So. I just found thrips in my new apartment. I have like... a lot of plants. I'm also at an extremely busy point in my life and feeling very overwhelmed. I know thrips are nasty (I've dealt with them before - effectively, or so I thought), and I have pesticide to use on them. I think I've hopefully caught this pretty early. My question is, which plants do I need to spray, and how often/how many times? I have 3 window ledges in my apartment, the closest of which are about a metre apart, and a plant stand about 2m away from those two windows. It's going to take probably hours to spray every single plant. And... oh, I shudder to think I might have to repot more than one. Or should I just shell out and buy some nematodes? Some advice would be very helpful, thank you so much!

I have brought a lot of my plants in because of the really cold nights already. Also we had a tropical storm and a couple took a beating. Well now that they are inside the soil isn't drying fast enough and they are getting fungus. What can I do to prevent it.

Hey everyone, Short long story: I bought this plant and it started immediately to have problems. She had root rot, I’ve cleaned it and changed all the soil. Then I’ve seen that she had pests (as she started to curl the leaves) and I’ve treated her and cleaned the leaves regularly. I assume that she had stress as she isn’t growing at all. The new leaf stopped her grow (she was growing already dried). Now she is in this condition for about 2 weeks and nothing changes. What should I do?

Any advice on what’s going on with this bird’s nest fern? Sometimes the leaves look crispy but the soil’s still moist. Some of the holes may be left over from when it used to be on a lower shelf (cats went nom) a little over a year ago. Thanks in advance!

I have a satin pothos that is generally in good health, but lots of leaves have brown edges or ends, even if they’re brand new. She also isn’t super full and the leaves curl slightly in even when freshly watered. I notice the soil stays “wet” (not “moist” or “dry”) according to my plant water meter for weeks. It’s been 17 days since my last water and she is still “wet” or high end of “moist”. I bought new soil that is specifically for pothos and planned to repot. Do I need to wait for soil to dry out first, and do I water her right away after repotting? I’m not sure what will shock her and she’s my first plant so I wanna try not to kill her.
