Would love some advice for transplant shock/root rot from a first time plant mom. I overwatered a peace lily that I’ve had for 3 years and it got some pretty bad root rot. We had to do some aggressive manipulation to get rid of it all and reported it in a smaller pot, so it’s currently having some pretty bad transplant shock (photos of day of repotting vs today, 5 days later). It only gets indirect light and I’m trying my best to keep the soil moist/damp but not waterlogged. I know the app says it’ll look worse before it looks better, but I want to be sure I’m not missing anything 🥲 TIA!

    I went through a similar experience about a month ago!! You’re doing all the right things! Mines slowly perking back up and I really think so will yours!!

    The first thing I always wonder… because of what my biggest mistake has been… is if the soil chunky enough or is the plant staying wet too long? Your plant was good for three years so you probably already know how to take care of it, but I think it’s worth mentioning that app and people who know how to take care of plants better than I so all mention recipes for soil, which include half potting soil and half a combination of perlite and orchid, redwood chips, plus a little bit of charcoal chips.       Thank you so much! We changed the pot from plastic to terracotta and added some perlite into the soil mix so I’m hopeful!

      I’d just watch that she doesn’t dry out too fast in the terracotta going forward. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
