whats wrong with my philodendron jose buono? humidity stays between 70-80%, temp stays between 65-73 degrees F, gets 12 hours of light a day. soil is not wet, but it is damp. producing new growth from the top. the curling of the leaves is sudden and two of the smaller leaves yellowed out completely. help!!

Is this only effecting old growth leaves? You might want to look into nutrition deficiency. It can be a bit tricky to balance, and if you regularly fertilize you could have an over abundance of some nutrients, which inhibits the plant’s ability to uptake other nutrients it needs. I believe yellowing and curling old leaves indicates potassium deficiency. I can’t guarantee that’s what’s happening, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

Banana water like the other commenter said. If you use a regular NPK fertilizer that might be part of the issue, as too much Nitrogen and Phosphorus can inhibit Potassium absorption. Temporarily stop using your regular fertilizer and switch to just banana water. Give some time to flush the others out of the soil, maybe a few weeks, and you should see improvement. Once your plant is looking healthy again you can resume normal fertilization, just keep an eye out for this problem to reoccur. If it does, you may want to switch fertilizer brands. Most NPK fertilizers should tell you want the N:P:K ratio in it is. Look for one with lower N and P and higher K IF this becomes a recurring issue.

thank you so much! i use growth technology’s foliage focus and my plants seem to love it. the NPK ratio is 2.2-0.4-2.2. hopefully she will be okay, shes one of my favorite plants. should i repot her?

That shouldn’t be necessary for nutrient issues. Water flushes excess out. This is looking like just early signs so it’s nothing severe. Should be resolved in a few weeks!

banana water! and a slight hydrogen peroxide mix and fertilizer may do the trick. I’d look into all three and figure out what works best for you
