My peace lily seems to have been declining in health since i brought her home from walmart. shes been repotted with a slightly larger pot since the roots were very tight and coming out of the drainage holes when i bought her, and ive been following Plantas advice on when to water. any advice on how to help her? or if i need to cut these browned blooms off?

Spaths like to be a bit snug in their pots so it’s good you only went slightly larger. Go ahead and deadhead any flowers that are brown. That should encourage the plant to focus on new growth. Make sure it is getting enough light. They don’t tend to flower well if they aren’t getting enough light and make sure to give a good balance fertilizer when Planta indicates.

I always trim to the base of the flower. Make sure to sanitize (wipe them with alcohol) your shears first so you don’t transmit anything to your struggling plant. They are pretty resilient so I’m sure she will perk up in no time!

I have a peace lily and they love to be watered. I water mine twice per week. The flowers will always turn brown and when you deadhead them, new ones will sprout shortly after. It’s a really cute process. But Walmart doesn’t take good care of their plants so every time you buy one from there, you basically need to perform surgery to get them to thrive.

yeah thats why we ended up bringing her home with us, she was being left out in the hot sun and had a bunch of brown spots on the leaves. hopefully we can get her to thrive here.

They bounce back so quickly. At least mine does. It hates going over the weekend without water. But good job saving her from the hot sun!
