Can someone assure me I didn’t kill my Rex begonia 🥲 I decided to put new soil in all my plants and mix in perlite with all of them, it’s been two days and Edgar is very droopy and the stems are very flexible and not sturdy, I know begonias can be temperamental so is he just being sassy and will he return to normal or did I totally F up? Thanks 😅

It could just be stressed. If it wasn’t having any issues beforehand, you checked for any root problems, diseases, or pests when repotting, you didn’t put it in a new spot, and it’s getting the right amount of humidity, it’s probably the stress of repotting. Wait at least a week before watering to not add onto the stress. Hope this helps. Checked your ID for Edgar and he’s a very beautiful Begonia. Definitely wouldn’t wanna risk losing it either. Best of luck with him.

Not watering after a repot will actually stress the plant a lot more. The only time you should skip a water after a repot is if you had a root rot issue.

You should always water throughly after a repot or the plant will stress more. The only tim you should leave it dry after a repot if you had a root rot issue. But this specific rex begonia is a little drama queen. I have the exact same one and it dropped all but two leaves and one of the crowns died off when I repotted it. I’ve never had a plant do that to me after a repot and i have almost 30 plants.
