Mix mosquito bits in your soil and get systemic granules for top soil. Also you can spray with neem oil. I do all 3 since I can’t stand gnats. Those gnat traps that plug in are amazing. I also use yellow sticky’s. I cut them in half and put one in each plant.

0개 좋아요Cinnamon didn’t work for me at all, diatomaceous earth just made a gigantic mess and didn’t work because when it soaks up any water from soil it is useless, tried peroxide water in combo with r zeevo plug in sticky traps for months and the peroxide did nothing to kill the larvae and left residue in my soil and it also strips the nutrients of the soil over time. Now I Have a wall plug zeevo trap and a table top zeevo max trap along with mixing mosquito bits into my plant water can when I water and it’s cut my gnat problem in HALF. I have over 30 house plants and so far this is the best thing I’ve found for myself. I also have some of the yellow sticky traps in plants with taller foliage because I had issues with my plant leaves sticking to them just as an extra help ridding of the adult gnats.

are your plants in plain potting soil? or has it been amended with additional drainage material, like pumice and perlite? most of the time when people have fungus gnat infestations it’s the soil they’re using. miracle gro is well known for being full of pest eggs and larvae, typically because the bags are stored outdoors. you may also be overwatering your plants. fungus gnats breed and thrive on moist soil since they eat the fungus that also breeds and thrives in moist conditions. if your soil and watering habits are all good and you still have a gnat infestation, i would recommend a product like mosquito bits with BTI as the main ingredient— it’s a type of bacteria that kills the larvae and eggs in the soil. a trap of some sort will take care of the adults. i really don’t recommend systemic granules, please look into the warning labels online before purchasing them, as they’re toxic and not intended for indoor use.
