My tradescentia was growing beautifully until it outgrew its pot and I waited too long to propagate it. This was my first ever propagation (new to plants except cacti and succulents). This is what it looks like now ~4-5 weeks post procedure. I don’t think it’s going to grow like this, should I just toss it and start again 😢 I tried to water prop one and I either cut it too close to the node or it just died.

Takes awhile for them to acclimate after propagation. 4-5 weeks isn’t very long. They look like they are in good shape to me. Nice job!

They are not yellow or crispy at 5 weeks. They are doing well and have put out sufficient roots to sustain themselves. You should be fertilizing at least once a month. I’m assuming the pot has drainage holes. Fully wet the soil until the excess runs through the drain holes. This ensures all the roots get water. They need lots of bright indirect light, 8 to 10 hours, to maintain the sharp lines and dark colors. So, a south or west window is best if there is no grow light. Good luck🍀🪴

I have not been fertilizing, so I’ll do that. Thank you!!
