    Iโ€™m not sure what it is, but Iโ€™d scrape off the soil an inch or two, sprinkle cinnamon and replace with fresh soil

    mold like that is usually harmless or actually beneficial, a lot of the time it happens because of overwatering/poor drainage. :)
