Can anyone tell me what the little black dots are on my variegated jade? I don’t see any thrips. It’s had this for a while and then the leaves on the bottom turn all yellow. This stays outside on my covered porch that is open on the west facing and south facing sides. It lives in succulent gritty mix, no soil

Something similar happened to my pinwheel succulent about a month ago (RIP) Check to see if your succulent is maybe starting to grow roots OUT of the ground. The problem I was having was that my succulent’s stem had started to weaken, and I didn’t realize the roots were a symptom. Check on your baby’s stem, if it looks weak, and has started to grow little potential roots, trim off the bad part and replant, then water a little bit more than you’d normally do

I appreciate the response, but I don’t see any roots growing out of the pot or the stem or anything

Even though it’s in a gritty mix is overwatering a possibility? Does it get rained on? Pot have drainage? Cause it looks like edema from too much water.

It doesn’t really get rained on, but it could possibly get some moisture when it rains. I only water it every couple weeks or so since it’s summer. Yes the pot has drainage, it’s terracotta btw. I will look into edema
