One leaf of my chinese evergreen has turned yellow! What am i doing wrong? Will i need to cut this leaf out? Ps: i follow what Planta says and i have this on sunlight today (just for a few minutes) while I dont have anyone to see in my office
Looks like that is just an old leaf that is dying off naturally. A way to tell whether it’s an old leaf or a different issue is the leaf itself. Because it is closest to the soils, that Informs that this is one of the first leaves on the plant. I don’t see any browning spots on the yellow or green leaves to indicate any kind of issue such as over/under watering, or pests. I wouldn’t be concerned. This is a natural process that allows for the plants energy to be put toward new and larger leaves! The plant looks very happy and healthy! I would suggest removing the plants from the decorate pot directly to help with not future issues. It’s best to always have the plant in a nursery pot that is placed inside the decorative pot. This allows for proper watering, drainage, and airflow to ensure healthy roots and growth. I hope this helps!!

0개 좋아요 Not necessarily!! As long as you follow a good watering schedule and don’t over water, the pot itself is not bad! I personally struggled potting directly into decorate pots, even with drainage because they still didn’t have enough air flow. Which led to root rot because I also tend to be an over watered😅. This is personally what I do, and have found that I have a lot less root rot issues. At the end of the day it is completely up to you how you decide to grow your plants! It’s a beautiful planter, it can still be used! I have attached a couple pictures of how I personally plant my plants in a nursery pot and put that inside a decorative pot. The only non-nursery pot that I will plant directly into is terracotta because it pulls extra moisture from the soil, ceramic, plastic, etc. do not pull moisture. I hope this helps!
