Look at this harassment! The internet says “could be under watering or overwatering”. Super. How to tell without digging out the roots which are 15” deep into the soil?

Overall plant health check. Are majority of the leaves turning a lighter color? If so the plant might have gotten waterlogged roots making it do this, so let it dry a little before the next application.

No just the lowest leaf on each vine. Coincided with new growth push out so 🤷🏻

Hmm, fertilizer and humidity would be my alternative checks for this as if the bottom foliage is dropping would indicate that it’s trying to thin out due to lack of either one of those.

Uh, I would act like it’s over watered first, let it dry out completely between waterings, if it gets worse…… drown it

If this were my plant I’d pull it out of this pot, clean up the roots if necessary (I’m betting yes) and put it in new, better-draining soil

This would be my action, as well. Root rot causes the yellowing and dying of leaves. Rot leads to bacterial infections in the soil. Drying the soil alone won’t clean out the rot. You need to take action to literally cut it off from the non rotting parts of the plant. Disinfect the undamaged roots (pot, tools, hands) with hydrogen peroxide to kill the bacterial growth from the rot. Change the potting mix to one with good drainage. Verify the soil is dry before watering. Do not follow a strict watering schedule including the Planta schedule.

When I repotted this a few months ago I turned in what I thought was way too much additional perlite into a tropical mix potting soil. I’m not entirely sure how much better drainage I could get.

You could add orchid bark or charcoal

I feel like old leaves on Monsteras will die while it pushes out newer leaves sometimes. Every one I’ve had experihas done this.
