Can anyone help me understand why the leaves of my bird of paradise curl up? I thought it might need more water but after introducing a humidifier to my office and using a moisture meter to ensure it has enough to drink — leaves still curl. Window pictured is south facing so it gets a lot of light. There is an AC vent in ceiling above plant, too.

Mine tends to do this as well. I’ve upped the water, added a humidifier and adjusted lighting. Can’t figure it out. It still sends up new leaves and seems to be happy. I did notice it gets worse when the plant was getting too warm. Sorry I can’t be more help!

Has it been moved at all or a sudden burst of more sunlight?

I would say the AC vent may be causing this, not many plants are good with that! Just in case double check for pests, some pests like spider mites cause leaves to curl.

Sometimes when the leaves get too much sun they will curl up to protect themselves from burning! Mine did this, and I adjusted the lighting and it hasn’t happened since :) good luck to you, your plant is beautiful <3
