Hello All- I’m trying to determine what pest would be causing the stems in this Fig Tree to “shred”, especially near new growth shoots and leaves. I’ve treated it systemically recently and also using an all natural spray. I e also cut some of the branches that seem to be dead to see if that may help. Noticed this about 3-4 months ago. Any idea would be appreciated. Pic is a bit blurry but I think it still shows the damage. Thanks !

If you are referring to the white things. I assume they may be mealy bugs? Might be time for pest treatment. Theres a lot on here about it.

hi Nick, thanks for your response. I do have Mealy bugs and have been treating it constantly as they just never seem to go away. But I don’t think they are causing the Woody branches to actually start peeling/shredding. I read that there may be some type of wood boarding insect causing it so I think I’m going to cut a piece off. Take it to my local nursery and see if they can help diagnose.
