We planted this red star spike about 4 weeks ago from a 5 gallon pot. We used succulent soil and the proper amount of liquid fertilizer designed for transplanting. She’s looking pretty crispy lately. Soil testing low moisture. Any ideas that can help her?

I’m also in Zone 9b: she looks like she needs a lot more water and some afternoon shade until she’s established and even then the afternoon sun might be too much. Be sure to cover her roots back up and give her some water but don’t drown her. If her roots have dried out too much they won’t absorb the water and she’ll start to rot. Rehydrate her and then if she’s doing ok give her a DEEP watering each time she’s watered,

Hey thanks for responding so quickly! Would it be ok to cover her in some light shade cloth?

Yes! I’ve even used my personal umbrella for shade for my smaller plants lol

Did you place her in that spot prior to planting? It kinda looks like she was not used to that much sun. I agree getting her some more shade and water would help
