Is this a fungus? How can I look after my problem child - when I first bought her she was excessively yellowing and drooping her leaves once they fully bloomed. After cutting them all off they regrew perfectly for about two months until now, when now there's black dots appearing. Concerned this is fungus!

thrips! those black dots are their poop. they chew on the leaves and suck out the sap. treat with systemic insecticide and external neem oil or isopropyl.

Oh no!! Do you reckon neem oil works well enough on its own?!

it can, but it'll take longer to kill them, neem oil is only going to treat the adults. it works by suffocating them, but they lay eggs inside of the plants tissues where neem can't reach them

Hi! I would recommend re potting and taking off all old dirt down to roots, use systematic granules all over on top when you re pot, clean off all leaves then spray with insecticidal soap every week for 3 weeks and you should be good. You can also do 70% isopropyl alcohol, I spray it on my plants weekly and sometimes every 3 days if I have mites or thrips!! Hope this helps. I had about 20 plants with thrips a month ago
