Hey everyone new plant momma so don’t come for me please but I bought this beauty from Walmart, I feel like I rescued her more than anything her name is Monty I repotted her when I got home but I’m curious as to what the yellow things on the leaves are and if I need to split her so she has more room. I named her Monty

check out the undersides of the leaves. looks like it’s fungal rust, if it is there will be reddish fuzzy looking patches underneath those spots… just cut the leaves off. there’s no cure for rust unfortunately. the rest of the plant should grow fine as long as you remove the infected leaves. i don’t recommend repotting a monstera unless it seems unhappy in its current potting situation, and yours looks just fine aside from the spots. i’d say check for fuzz, cut the leaves off if that’s what it is, and set her somewhere that gets dappled light and leave her be. water deeply once half or most of the soil is dry, which could be 1-3 weeks based on my guess at its size and depending on your home conditions, you can check the moisture levels by seeing how light the pot is (water is quite heavy) or with your fingers or a bamboo skewer, there are other methods but these are the most reliable i’ve found
