1 likeThey make very low maintenance pets if you get a terrarium with a lid (I used a simple grated one). Only keep one in there tho, cause they multiply like crazy from just two. They like non acidic fruits and vegetables and can even eat your eggshells after cooking if you wash them and crush them up with a spoon. They like misting and peat and sphagnum moss, and they even hibernate in the winter. (Sorry, this might sound silly, but I had two garden snails as pets named Onion and Persimmon, and they were really great pets. Also, they can eat leftovers of produce if you donāt need all of it for a recipe! Like a compost garden!) I found a very small one on my pumpkin two halloweens ago and I just had to bring āem in.

2 likesIām considering starting one with all the slugs Iāve been finding in the garden. Keeps them from being harmed by any pesticide my developmentās landscapers use (oh yeah btw a lot of potting and gardening soil mixes come with pesticides, so if you want to, make sure you pick an organic top soil with sphagnum or peat moss that doesnāt come with pesticides). Helps keep them alive AND your plants! š±
1 likeomg that is so cool
1 likeWhy thank you. Iād be happy to share any tips if anyone ever wants to try it. (Also nice if you DONT wanna use stuff with pesticides in soil for any planted fruits and veggies but also DONāT want said veggies eaten by snails. My aunt loathes garden snails and I joked that Iād be happy to take them off her hands.
