I recently found scale insects on one of my plants. This is a new plant I just brought in and I haven’t felt with scale insects before. I washed off the leaves as best I could, but what can I do to keep them off my other plants? I am planning on getting neem oil but don’t have any on hand yet

The most important thing you can do now to stop them from spreading is to make sure your scale-y plant is isolated. Even if that just means it's not touching other plants, it'll help. Make sure you check any plants it was touching/close to. Isoprpyl alcohol will remove them as well. I personally would go for alcohol on a cotton bud before neem, but that's partly because I have time to sit there and poke a plant.

I moved it to a table away from my other plants but it’s still in the same room. I have limited space right now

The same room is totally fine. Scale aren't *that* mobile; if you're treating it and it's not touching anything else they're not likely to successfully spread

I didn’t realize when I first got scale what it was. My whole collection has it and I am continually fighting it. Every time I think I have the upper hand, I don’t. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have started with systemic insecticides alongside the spray treatments. Read up on scale because the nymphs that hatch from eggs can literally float on air currents.
