That can be a reason. Could be due to age but your pothos definitely wants a drink. You can tell when the leaves wilt and become less shiny. Do you give this plant fertilizer?

no, i don’t have the money at the moment for fertilizer. do you think a humidifier would help it at all?

Cut those leaves off and move it to a shadier place for a bit.

Shadier place will equal less watering tho, so keep that in mind too

Mine has been without a humidifier. In general I don’t think they’re required. The one I have has been living with me and it was a cutting from my mother’s. She basically neglects it. It lives on top of her kitchen cabinets and the thing is older than I am. And I am 34.

It’s hard to tell from the pic. But is your soil actually absorbing moisture? It looks very level and dense. If it’s too compacted, there won’t be enough oxygen for the roots, which will cause yellowing of the leaves.

With all my plants the soil gets hard like that from watering. I’m very beginner plant person now - should I be fluffing up the dirt every so often ?

Aerating the soil is always good! I use old reed diffuser sticks or my hygrometer and push gently (being careful of the roots. If u feel resistance don’t keep forcing it) down into the soil multiple times, depending on how big the pot is. Also I think HDF might be meaning your potting mix needs to be more chunky. Like take a store bought mix and then add lots of perlite, orchid bark, pumice. Depends on the plant. For tropical plants, like pothos, I do even parts of all 4 of those. I’m pretty new myself! But I’ve put lots of research into these things and I do both those things for all my tropical plants. Well the aerating I do with ALL my plants.

This looks very underwatered to me. You can tell by the curling, drooping, and lack of shininess the leaves have. Also if you feel them, the leaves can have a different texture if they are really thirsty. They won’t be as waxy and they might be a little softer and thinner. If you go too long without watering it, they can turn yellow. Snip them off, let it have a good drink, and try not waiting so long to water the next time 🌞
