Tips on keeping squirrels / opossums away from my jade and other plants on a 2nd story balcony? Some creature (assumed squirrel since I know we’ve got a few in the area) keeps snacking on my jade and knocking other plants over. I don’t have a ton of space to work with to deter the squirrels and I have hummingbird friends that I do NOT want to scare off. Any advice?

has it been really hot where you are? i find that critters (chipmunks for me) leave my outdoor succulents alone UNLESS it’s been extremely hot. then they seem to nibble leaves for water

Has not really been extremely hot. Maybe a few degrees warmer than usual but not a lot at all. There are also plenty of other plants around the complex… maybe not water dense though.

You could maybe get a statue or two of some of squirrels’ natural predators. Like a cute fox statue or raccoon or if you’re into snakes you could coil a plastic one around your jade container. Worth a try 🤷🏻‍♀️
